## Estimate what your YouTube channel really earns

This YouTube money calculator takes your views, niche and sponsorships. See a monthly range for ads, Shorts and sponsors, then test what direct fan payments would add.

## YouTube money calculator

Pick your niche, enter last month's views and adjust the RPM if you know yours. Results update as you type.

## What goes into your number

### RPM, not CPM

We multiply your views by an RPM, the amount you receive per 1,000 views after YouTube takes its share. Each niche gets a low, typical and high value, so you see a range instead of a false promise.

### Shorts count for less

Long-form and Shorts are calculated separately. Shorts use a typical RPM of about $0.05 per 1,000 views, because the revenue comes from a shared pool and creators receive 45% of their allocation.

### Income beyond ads

Sponsorships are a flat amount you set. The direct fan line multiplies subscribers by the share who pay, by price, minus a platform fee. It shows what a second income stream could add.

## Your Analytics RPM beats every table

Public RPM figures are averages across thousands of channels, and averages hide a lot. A finance channel with a US audience and a gaming channel with a mostly global audience can differ by a factor of five on the same view count.

Open YouTube Studio, go to Analytics, then Revenue, and read your RPM for the last 28 days. Type it into the calculator and the range narrows around your real numbers.

- Use the last 28 days, not your best month
- Compare long-form and Shorts RPM separately
- Watch how RPM moves between summer and Q4

## How to use the calculator

1. **Choose your niche** — The niche fills a starting RPM. If you already know your own, type it over the suggestion and the range adjusts around it.
2. **Enter last month's views** — Use real views from YouTube Studio, split between long-form and Shorts. Leave Shorts at zero if you do not publish them.
3. **Add sponsors** — Put the number of sponsored videos per month and the price per deal. Leave it at zero if you have none yet.
4. **Test the direct fan what-if** — Enter your subscriber count and a realistic share who would pay, often 1% or less. See how much of your income would sit outside the algorithm.

## Common questions about YouTube earnings

### Is this YouTube money calculator free?

Yes. It is free, needs no signup and runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to a server.

### Where do the RPM numbers come from?

They are planning ranges drawn from public creator earnings reports, one range per niche. Finance channels often report RPMs above $10, gaming channels often sit between $1.50 and $5. Your own RPM in YouTube Analytics always beats a table.

### What is the difference between RPM and CPM?

CPM is what advertisers pay per 1,000 ad views. RPM is what you actually receive per 1,000 video views, after YouTube keeps its share and counting views that never showed an ad. This calculator uses RPM.

### How much of the ad money do I keep?

For long-form videos in the YouTube Partner Program, creators receive 55% of the ad revenue attributed to their views. RPM is already measured after that cut, so you do not need to subtract it again.

### Why are Shorts worth so little?

Shorts revenue comes from a shared pool, and creators receive 45% of their allocation. Typical Shorts RPM sits around $0.05 per 1,000 views, so a million views is often worth tens of dollars, not thousands.

### Can I earn money before I join the Partner Program?

Not from ads. Ad revenue sharing generally requires 1,000 subscribers plus 4,000 public watch hours, or 10 million Shorts views in 90 days. Sponsorships and direct fan payments have no such threshold.

### What does the direct fan revenue line mean?

It is a what-if, not a YouTube payout. It shows what you would earn if a small share of your subscribers paid you directly each month, after a platform fee. Set the fee to match the tool you would use.

### Is the result guaranteed?

No. Audience country, season, video length and watch time move your RPM a lot. Treat the range as a planning tool, then replace the inputs with your last 28 days of real data.

## Own the relationship with the fans you already have

Ad revenue depends on an algorithm you do not control. Heenok helps independent creators earn directly from their community.
